Job Description for Junior Back-End Web Developer

• Work Setup: Work from home
• Schedule: Monday to Friday | 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM PH Time
• Salary: Php 30 to 40k per month
• Holidays: UAE Holidays Observed

Job Responsibilities

• Web Development Support
  • Assist in building and maintaining backend services using NestJS TypeScript
  • Help develop simple backend features, REST APIs, and microservices
  • Work with basic CRUD operations, authentication, and storage (file/database)
  • Use AI tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) mainly for coding assistance
• Troubleshooting & Maintenance
  • Help check server logs, errors, and user-reported issues
  • Perform basic debugging of API and database issues under guidance
  • Assist in fixing simple bugs and implementing small backend updates
  • Document changes and follow established coding guidelines
• Team Collaboration
  • Work with senior developers for task assignments and code reviews
  • Communicate progress clearly during stand-ups
  • Follow best practices and be open to coaching and mentoring

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in web development (or strong project portfolio)
• Knowledgeable in NestJS, Node.js, and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Familiarity with simple API development (REST endpoints, request validation)
• Basic understanding of Python
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Experience with PostgreSQL (writing queries, basic schema design)
• Willingness to learn AI tools and new frameworks
• Good English communication skills
• Can work independently with guidance and is eager to grow

Requirements

• Knowledge of ILS (Integrated Logistic Support)
• Basic understanding of version control (Git)
• Familiarity with ORMs (Prisma, TypeORM) or query builders
• Exposure to Docker, message queues, or cloud services
• Experience with school projects, internships, or bootcamp training
