To support sensitive law enforcement work, the part-time Yiddish Linguist will perform real-time and recorded transcription from Yiddish to English, capturing accurate written products and communicating pertinent information to law enforcement personnel. Key responsibilities Listen to live or recorded communications in Yiddish and produce verbal and written transcriptions as required Communicate relevant information to law enforcement personnel in a timely manner during live monitoring Transcribe and translate pertinent calls and documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to required formats Required qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum one year of translation experience in Yiddish Knowledge of Yiddish colloquialisms, slang terms, and regional expressions Ability to achieve a score of 3 or better on a third-party language assessment in English and Yiddish Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications
