Veterinary Receptionist Job in Canisteo, NY- Canisteo Veterinary Hospital

Canisteo Veterinary Hospital is hiring a full-time Veterinary Receptionist / Veterinary Assistant in Canisteo, New York.

Veterinary Receptionist & Veterinary Assistant Responsibilities: Client Service & Front Desk Support

• Welcome clients and patients with professionalism and compassion
• Answer phones, emails, and client messages
• Schedule veterinary appointments accurately and efficiently
• Educate clients on hospital services, wellness care, and basic veterinary information
• Process invoices, payments, and client transactions
• Assist with prescription refill requests and client communication
• Support daily veterinary hospital front desk operations

Veterinary Assistant & Patient Care Support

• Assist veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians with patient handling and restraint
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas
• Assist with hospitalized patient care and surgical patient monitoring
• Prepare laboratory samples and assist with diagnostics
• Administer medications and vaccines under veterinary supervision
• Support pharmacy, treatment, and patient workflow
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient veterinary hospital environment
• Assist with bathing, drying, and grooming support as needed

What We’re Looking For

• 1+ years of veterinary experience preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask in a busy veterinary hospital environment
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork mentality
• Compassionate and dependable work ethic
• Comfortable working with animals of all sizes
• Basic computer and veterinary software experience preferred
• Must be able to commute to or relocate to Canisteo, NY before starting

Compensation & BenefitsPay

$17.00 – $19.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications
