Job Description
The City of Sandy Springs is seeking a skilled and dependable Stage Hand to provide technical support for theatrical rehearsals, performances, concerts, and special events at City Springs and the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center.
The Stage Hand plays an important role in the successful production of events by preparing, setting up, operating, and maintaining stage systems and equipment. Responsibilities may include rigging, stage carpentry, lighting, audio/video, scenic elements, and other theatrical equipment. This position works closely with visiting artists, performers, production crews, lighting designers, producers, and other event professionals to ensure each event is safely and successfully executed.
The ideal candidate is proactive, safety-conscious, customer-service oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced event environment with changing schedules and production needs.

This position requires the ability to perform light to medium physical work, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects and materials weighing up to 20 pounds. Duties may require balancing, bending, climbing, crouching, handling, kneeling, reaching, repetitive motion, stooping, walking, and working for extended periods at a workstation or keyboard. Some duties may be performed on slippery surfaces and may require working in cold outdoor environments.
The position may involve exposure to varying environmental conditions and requires the ability to perceive and distinguish sounds, visual cues, and signals and communicate effectively.
