Please Note: applications for this internship must be submitted by June 12th. Description The Kent County Health Department (KCHD) publishes monthly data reports on its website exploring overdose and overdose deaths in Kent County. KCHD and the Overdose Epidemiologist are trying to incorporate data dashboards to streamline data sharing and make these data more understandable and accessible to the community. We are looking for an intern to work with KCHD epidemiologists to develop public‑facing dashboards for overdose deaths and opioid settlement spending in Kent County. The student will have the opportunity to attend meetings with KCHD community partners, including the Kent County Opioid Task Force (KCOTF). The student might also assist with project management of opioid settlement initiatives and attend outreach events with KCHD/KCOTF staff. At the end of the internship, the student will better understand the day‑to‑day operations of a local health department and the role of epidemiologists in data analysis, visualization, and communication. The interdisciplinary and collaborative nature of the KCOTF will also allow the student to network with and learn about other organizations and community partners.
