The EHS Manager for GSI Services is responsible for providing day-to-day EHS support for site activities across all GSI in Canada. Key responsibilities include developing strong working relationships with operational and project managers in the region to drive the expected EHS culture across all operations, acting as a support liaison for all sites in helping comply with regulatory requirements, ensuring all operations are carried out in compliance with applicable regulatory and GE requirements, and managing the Safety Data Sheet databank for Canada.
The EHS Manager will conduct weekly inspections of site including the Life Saving Rules validations, emergency drills, and other onsite safety requirements. They will validate working methods and safety rules, procedures are followed, and protective equipment is used properly. The role also involves supporting the business in driving continuous improvement in EHS programs and the way they are implemented across sites.
Required qualifications include 5+ years of EHS experience, with exposure to several EHS areas in a services environment, knowledge of oil and gas, electrification, and energy business, knowledge of North American EHS legislation, and the ability to travel up to 75%, as required. Fluency in both French and English, and the ability to work overtime as site requires are also necessary. Desired characteristics include strong leadership and influencing skills, demonstrated ability to manage multiple issues with competing priorities, high energy, self-starter, practical experience in risk elimination, ergonomics, and project management, excellent oral and written communication skills, and willingness to become a certified CPR instructor.
