BUS MONITOR

BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE

Provides for the safe operation of the assigned bus and control of the passengers while transporting to and from their assigned school, center, or school-related function

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain student discipline on the bus and refers serious infractions to the driver
• Provide assistance to individual students as needed
• Comply with school, system, state and federal regulations as related to job requirements
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Participate in appropriate training, workshops and staff development activities and applies new information to the job
• Perform daily, routine tasks with little or no direction
• Accept challenges in a professional manner
• Relate to students, parents, and driver in a positive and professional manner
• Attend all required meetings or training sessions
• Assist driver with emergency evacuation drills as required
• Help driver maintain a clean bus as prescribed by local procedures
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND CREDENTIAL

• High school diploma or GED
• Complete any training required by the school district

EXPERIENCE

• Positive references from previous employers
